The mini version will run under $100, the PX5D more. It will run on a couple of AA batteries (yes, an AC adapter is available) and it will fit in your pocket. It also has a bunch of amp/cab/FX built in. Or be very clever and buy a Line 6 Amplifi 150 and cover all your bases. You're attempting a steampunk kludge.īuy a tube amp if you want one, for whatever reason you want it, and then buy a Korg Pandora for practice. You can adapt it, and things will move, but it's not the best way to go about things. For what you really want to do, sticking a tube amp in the middle of all of that is sort of like putting a washing machine motor in your car. Your MP3s won't reproduce very well and I'm not sure what you think the advantage will be through your headphones. Here's the thing - you're not "stepping up" to move to a tube amp, sorry. Why would you not just use a mini to 1/4" phone adapter and plug it in? YOu could go Amp to weber to mixer, mixer line out to either THR or Mustang guitar in, mp3 to Aux in. I just read you have a Mustang and a THR. I have had and used all of them and rank the quality of the emulated out sound as 1. Blackstar 1 and 5 (and I think 20) watt amps, Laney IRT Studio and the Peavey Micro Heads all have a built-in load box and emulated outs (to name a few). But then you may, or may not need the Weber as a load box, depending on the amp. Many amps have emulated outs now, so look for those. THus you would use the EQ pedal to adjust the tone as needed to simulate what a speaker adds.Īnd of corse you could fork out $400 for a Torpedo C.A.B Box, run the Weber out to it, mp3 to it, and hook your headphones up to it. Gear like the redbox and other hardware speaker sims, are rerally just applying EQ patterns to simulate the speaker/CAB. YOu could run that output straight to that mixer, if no ability to take a aux in, or if it has no headphone tap.Īnother, is to run that weber to that mixer, and run a 10 band eq in it's loop. Preferably it is one with a headphone jack. Impuls CAB/Speaker smulations tend to sound the best, imho.Īnother, is to run the Weber out to one of several multi fx pedals, preferably with amp and cab sims. Depending on your setup, though there may be a lag issue, playing live. #Linein mp3 freeBut the cheapest, using what you likely already have is to run that out from the weber to a DI to your computer, and run free Impulse CAB/Speaker Sims and VSTs on it. If I am wrong about the Weber Headphone tap, then ignore.īut, otherwise, your going to want some kind of speaker or CAB simulation applied to that signal before the headphones. Same thing happens with a line out on amps to a mixer, and headphones there, or lineout to headphone amp, etc. Even running that to a mixer, and using the headphone tap on that, same thing. In my experience, you will NOT be happy with how that sounds in headphones. Weber Headphone tap does not aoppear to have speaker emulation. IF another amo using the Weber Headphone tap, this is what I suggest and why. K, the Little Blackstars have you covered.
